After 3 years of playing Ingress on my phone (on and off), I've made it to level 9.  Technically speaking I had already earned enough points to be promoted to level 9 several months ago, but since my achievements weren't keeping up with my XP I only now got a silver badge (in distance traversed I think) that allowed me to level up.  I guess I'll need to go out and do some event days.

This isn't laugh out loud funny - but it did manage to get a chuckle...

What a difference 20 years make :-) When I was in high school this would have seemed so awesome. Well, it still does, but the super nintendo and the genesis were the thing back then, and shoving it all into a gameboy form factor would have blown my mind!

The other day I was browsing pintrest, which now gives me recommendation on various things Trek and space-based Sci-Fi.  I came across some fan art on a Valkyrie class attack ship which reminded me a lot of the Macross Saga (aka Robotech).  Now that would be an interesting crossover!

This has been making the rounds on social media this week: a fictitious article mocking presidential candidate Donald Trump by writing an academic article in Trumpspeak.  We've got the best data. Premium stuff! Pretty funny ;-)
