It's been a very reading-heavy few weekends.  I've been trying to go through the massive amount of articles that I downloaded for my dissertation proposal so I can start writing the final section (the lit review) that's been on my mind since the summer.  I was looking for an article on one of the Sage databases, and I thought that an author & keyword combination would do its magic

This past week I was reminded of Darren Hayes and the song Pop!ular. Not sure what reminded me of it, definitely some random conversationalist at work, but I don't recall how exactly this fits in.  I think it was the white noise beat that someone had in the office.

Masters of Doom: How Two Guys Created an Empire and Transformed Pop Culture by David Kushner My rating: 4 of 5 stars Interesting book about the people and the company that brought you Doom and Wolfenstein 3D. As a kid I was introduced to these through shareware disks bought at the local Staples office store. It's interesting to hear what happened both before and after my introduction

Well... I guess I'm done with it not in the "I've completed the game" aspect but rather, "I got to a point and got tired of it" :p .  A month or so ago I thought I'd start Bayonetta on the xbox.  Not that I have a ton of time on my hands with the dissertation proposal going on, but hey, it should have been a fun diversion.  In the game you play as...you guess it...Bayonetta. 

MOOCs and Educational Challenges around Asia and Europe by Bowon Kim My rating: 3 of 5 stars This was an interesting overview of MOOC (and some about OER) initiatives in selected Asian countries. It's interesting to see the role that MOOCs and OER take on in different contexts. I did find some issues with some chapters (naming things MOOCs which aren't really MOOCs), but I guess
