The ship for the upcoming Star Trek TV series (Star Trek Discovery) has been announced at comic con this year!  Given its ship registry (NCC 1031) it seems like this series will be taking place before the original series.  Wonder if we're going to be seeing the beginnings of Captain April... The ship, the Discovery, seems a little reminiscent of the ship designs for Phase II

This came across my radar recently: a live action futurama fan film (probably just a trailer, but still). There is something odd and creepy about it, but it did get a laugh out of me :-)
