Die Standing by John Jackson Miller

This was an interesting novel that takes place between Season 1 and Season 2 of Star Trek Discovery.  It provides for a lens into Mirror Georgiou's background in the Terran Empire, as well as her work in Section 31. A big part of this novel seems to be dealing with a trio of alien civilizations, The Troika, which has not made it onto the screen.  TrekCore describes the Troika as a "twisted reflection of the Federation, representing an exploitative marriage of convenience more than a fulfilling alliance of mutual cooperation." I am wondering we're going to see this on-screen at some point. The novel had some interesting subtle references to time crystals (seen in later seasons of Discovery).
